Here is a little topic were everyone can post records, compositions or anythings, before finish it and post it on youtube.

It would be a good thing to have some pieces of advice etc.
Or to make collabs like "Hey i'm wrking on this song" "Oh maybe we can do something together" "Hell yhea!"

know what i mean...

So i hope that would be usefull for you and me ^^'

Um, the entire part where the bass is way high up, can you move that back down? Your song has no low end in the middle.

BTW your lead-in clicks are 3x too fast :-) If you want them at that speed, you could do twelve, and accent the 1, 4, 7, 10. That's what I'd do (subdivide!)

For more information on Subdivisions, see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu9Ycq64Gy4

Good job hashel! Though, may I add, in the begining, your guitar is a little too quiet, especially when you play those low notes :)

Anyways, this is a good idea for a forum and I have been working on a cover so here it is!

Ken's Theme from Street Fighter 2:

So tell me what you think :)

By the way, I don't really like my tone for lead on this one :(

Oh ya, and the 8 beats at the begining will be taken out, they are just to help me get the beat first.

i wonder if the original is not faster ? what's your tab ?
Try to bind your notes and use some tricks like bends or slides etc :)

Auri => and about the playing itself, does it sounds good to you ?

EDIT : Does it sounds better ? not too much delay ?

Link, you're playing is doing good and I really wouldn't sweat it about the recording. Once you get better equipment, the quality can improve dramatically.

In the meantime, just try playing it in a cleaner tone :D, like this guy who jazzified Ken's theme.

I had this idea and I was going to do it until I searched it and it was already done, he did amazing though, gotta love that build up to 1:38 to the main riff

how do you record? like Auri and jit told you it's surely an equipement "problem"...
anyway still working on it, your synchronisation and use some tricks like slids etc to more personificate the song :)
Maybe add some reverb or delay with Audacity, or the program you use.

For my recording, could you tell me if there's no too much delay and if you can hear the clena guitar better on the low notes+ plz:)

Thanks hashel! :) Your recording sounds much better too. The delay sounds very cool and I can hear the low notes better now. You may just want to try to get that "clicking" noise out of there like at parts 0:40 - 1:40 because it doesn't sound very good with the delay. Either way the recording sounds great! :)

Oh and I use audacity :)

Ok, I added a little delay to the lead. Tell me if you like it.

Gonna change the fonts and the palette to the NES palette. This is low res, the real one is too big to post. I'm transcribing/arranging the entire soundtrack to Super Mario Land and putting it in book form. This is a cover I was fooling around with last night.

The main brunt of transcribing is done. I'm probably going to redo each piece in Finale where I have more control over how it actually looks on the page, versus battling with GP to get it looking somewhat like I want it. I'm considering having them in standard notation instead of standard with tabs below. I will still include the tabs with rhythm notation, just not on the same page as standard. This would allow pieces that take multiple pages to fit on one page, rather than being spread to 2+ simply because the tabs take up room. I've seen it done in other books and it seems to work well. Those who can't read standard notation can look to the second half of the collection for the same songs in tab/rhythm form. Any suggestions for things to add, change, etc?

Well, the color might change A LITTLE, but I'm using the real mario colors so it's not going to change much. I have an NES palette to work off but the colors are pretty close to this anyway. Regardless, thanks for the suggestion. I might just do some 8-bit font because I guess it doesn't make much sense that I have an 8-bit mario with dot matrix letters and then another random 1920's font. Heh.
