Hahaha... Man, until 5 min ago I was tabbing that actual part. :D And now I come to see whats new on gametabs and I see you post... XD Don't worry, I'm almost done with my tab. And it looks like I'll tab the whole thing in the end, although I didn't plan to do so at first. :P But say, "trading tabs" sounds bad. I plan to post my tab here on this site in the "Creativity corner" (cuz I already did so with another non-game tab) and make it available to anyone. And I just intend to ask all the people that will read it that this tab just stays here among us. You know, for gametabs people only. But if someone decides to be an a-hole and go to youtube and write "I got the tabs for this!!!" then it can't be helped. But you know, if Per really, really doesn't want anyone to tab his songs than he shouldn't have posted them on the net in the first place. And it's the same with my tab. As soon as I post it it's available for misuse. So much for my aspect of the legal issues. You shouldn't worry about it. The first non-game tab I've posted here was also from a dude who charged for it, and I've talked about this with an admin and he just told me not to worry and to post it in the Creativity corner. But maybe we could even make a Per-Olov thread on this one. Or even Per-Olov/Lonlonjp non-game tabs thread. Let's see what the others think. |
Just to be clear, it's not

Just to be clear, it's not Per-Olov's arrangement to begin with. Yuquijiro Yocoh was the original arranger, and the proper copy was put out by Guitar Solo Productions and can be found here: http://www.gspguitar.com/jsp2/detailSearch.jsp?sku=GSP04&cat=all&alpha=&... http://www.stringsbymail.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&prod... That's sheet music of course...but lognar on a musical note, if you want to branch out I'd highly recommend learning how to read sheet music, as it is way more musically communicative than tab, and also much more correct than tabs you'll find on the net in general. :D Plus the skill of reading it will blend into other instruments if you ever choose to play one. "If Per really, really doesn't want anyone to tab his songs than he shouldn't have posted them on the net in the first place." Definitely disagree with this statement, cause you could apply that logic to justify copying and distributing any recording made by a musician or moviemaker who is trying to make a living. On the other hand Mr. Olov doesn't reference the original source of the music which was easy enough for me to find with a cursory search. So while he may have done a good job figuring the music out on his own, I don't think I'd be paying him for the tab. I'd buy it from the original source.

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same. |

yeah i'll post what i have in the creativity corner because it's a relaxing song i think people should be able to learn if they want to. i might tab another one of his soon. but i really need to spend more time on my own songs.. it seems impossible to be able to just look at sheet music and start playing it on guitar but i'll try to learn..i know it's really useful and it's impossible to find good fingerstyle tabs online (cept kabukibear and lonlonjp thread lol). and i thought he arranged sakura cuz he said " I wrote this down many years ago from a recording my father had. I had no idea who played it or composed it. I spent hours writing it down. " but o well either way i still would like to support his music but i literally have no money whatsoever and i really don't care about the laws, i was just wondering if it was a big deal here. |

Idk musenji, music involves a lot of stealing from all sides. Ask Jimmy page for example... XD Ok seriously now, I do understand what you mean but and you're right, but that doesn't prevent anybody to steal a movie/album/song anyway. As for this musical issue, as soon you make something public you can expect that someone will figure it out sooner or later. I mean, this is how it always was. Even 250 years ago when they kept their sheets and stuff top secret there was Mozart for example who just memorized and recreated the whole concert just by hearing it once. And by the way, I don't think it's illegal in this case cuz at the end of Sakura he says "all lefts reserved". :D And anyway, it's not like I bought his original tab and now I'm gonna give it to someone. I'm writing my own tab. And my tab is based on someone else's work alright, but so is his. So if you ask me, I got the same rights as he does and can do whatever I want with my own work. So if this is illegal, then he should be worse than me. I'm giving it for free and he is selling it. |

Hey everybody soo Kanshiketsu made a post about a week ago about tremolo picking and linked to the video of Per-Olov Kindgren's Sakura, which is an amazing piece. Kanshiketsu i hope you can tab out the tremolo part cuz it sounds super awesome.
Anyway I realllyyy like his arrangements. I love when popular songs like beatles songs are transcribed for all solo guitar, it sounds lovely, better than the originals IMO.
His arrangement of Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head by Burt Bacharach sounded beautiful to me and it looked like something i could tab out without too much of a headache, so i did :)
the song i just tabbed : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_iLa0U4m5w
why i posted this is... I'm hoping some of the other fingerpickers on this site will also find interest in his songs and make an effort to tab one of them out. it didn't take me that long for that one so if we could trade tabs it would be really efficient and we could all learn his songs
also this is probably illegal cuz he's selling his music on his website but the one i just tabbed can only be bought as musical score anyway n i think its just from a book of his or something. and i'm a noob when it comes to reading music so i would never have learned it if i didn't tab it out. however i'd gladly buy his other arrangements if i had the money because they're so subtle yet beautiful, and he says 99% of his arrangements are available to be bought as tab =D
the legal issue is why idk if i should even post the tab on the forums here. i'll gladly message it to anyone though, but you gotta promise someday you'll try to tab some something too lol. it's not from a game so i know im not submitting it to the site but honestly if you play guitar you can't say all you ever wanna play is game music :P
share your ideas with me fellow fingerstylists!
