Final Fantasy IX - Ukulele de Chocobo GUITAR TAB
Song by Nobuo Uematsu
Tabbed by auriplane ([email protected])
Okay, there's two versions. The bottom one has trills, like the
original. But, I don't know if that actually sounds too good on
guitar. So on the top version, I put them on separate strings,
so you can play them like a chord :-)
Standard tuning, no capo. Rest for 8 measures at the beginning.
Remember that this song has swung eighths!

The name of the track...
Excellent tab, auriplane. I just have one question (to anyone who can answer it): what's the actual name of this track? Some sites say 'Ukule le Chocobo' (as if to play on 'Ukulele' and 'le' (rather than 'de')), some say 'Ukulele le Chocobo', and here it is called 'Ukulele de Chocobo'. The latter makes the most sense to me, because it keeps with the naming format of the other chocobo tracks in FF games, like 'Aloha de Chocobo', 'Odeka de Chocobo', 'Fiddle de Chocobo' etc.
Cheers in advance.
There's an English CD, though
There's an English CD, though soundtrack titles in English are usually translated and often done without attention to detail, even if they are "official":

However, the Japanese OST (which I personally view as "more official", if that makes any sense) says ウクレ・le・チョコボ, which is Ukule le Chocobo. It's a pun :-)
Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack is exceptional, in that all of the tracks have titles written out in English (or in roman letters, at least), even for the original Japanese version of the OST. On that soundtrack, "Odeka de Chocobo" [sic] is actually titled "ODEKA ke Chocobo", which is a pun on the Japanese おでかけ, a reference to おでかけチョコボRPG, the Pocketstation game included with FF8.
So, officially perhaps this has been translated "Ukulele de Chocobo", which is silly, but originally it's "Ukule le Chocobo". Hopefully that answers your question!
That does answer my question
That does answer my question - rather comprehensively!
However, I have another - again for anyone that can provide an answer...
Does anyone have the chord bit of this track arranged for guitar? Perhaps I should formally request it in the forum...

I haven't checked if it's right though...
to have a ukulele on your guitar, capo on 5th fret and only play the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th string. you get the standard ukulele tunning (GCEa)
or just use the chord chart to play your own chords positions
