after i watched the recent video arrangement of this i couldn't resist doing my own arrangement of it and its even in one of my fav guitar tunings :3 oh and its not a transcription lol, the video led me to the song but i tabbed it by ear from the original chrono trigger OST

so I can hold out the high note for the entire measure. The chord still sounds very legit as 1's instead of 3's (I have big hands, I'm 6'3")

It's not really about where a capo is.

While barring the 1st fret you only have 3 other fingers. To play the high notes then switch back to the 323 you're gonna have to stop holding the high note.

I only mentioned that I have big hands cause some people can't bar fret 1 and hold fret 6, my suggestion wouldn't matter unless you can reach the 6 while playing the 3 and 2 while barring 1.

By the way, this is one of my favorite songs on this site =)

I just like the tone on capo 5 an i don't have to stretch quite so much to reach the 6, also because i play it a bit faster i don't have to change my hands grip too much.

I love the way this arrangement just...kinda rolls along. I'm bad at explaining things D:. Anyways I think this sounds really really pretty. I never thought much of this song in the game but it sounds amazing when I play it on my guitar.

That being said I really do not like how the notes get cut short in the part thedstring was describing, but I dont really like changing the notes to fix it either.

I think this goes better as a duet with the melody an octave up. The melody travels right smack dab in the middle of the texture--makes it kinda impossible to really bring it out well.

And the part dstring was talking about...doesn't even physically work for me. Even on capo 3, there's no way I'm getting 1x32x6 to happen. Even hurts to do on capo 5.

From memory i would release the 3,2 and just play the base and lead then quickly release the 6 to go back to that original position. It would sound better as a duet, but i quite like how its sorta just this single blend of the two c: its not any easy tab though really.
