Here's where the rest of the music kicks in, drums and
lots of other orchestral stuff, but it just does more
of the same for the guitar.

why the tuning?
seriously, I love the song, but I don't want to keep retuning my guitar every time I want to play this, is it that hard on regular tuning?

It's not about the difficulty, it's about the sound. You can't get for example the low D on the low E string without changing the tuning. Assuming that people are changing tuning because it's a crutch and not because they want a certain type of sound is not the way of thinking about it.
I don't think the song
I don't think the song deserves a to lose a star to tuning. You can tell when a string is plucked open rather than a fretted note by the way it sounds. When listening to the original song, you can tell which notes are open strings.
I transcribed the song the way it sounded, not the way others think it should be played.
Want to sound like the recording? Use this tuning.
If you don't like tuning your
If you don't like tuning your guitar to get this specific sound, don't play this song. You docked me a star because you don't agree with the original composer. You should dock stars off a tab for accuracy problems, not cause you dislike the song or the composer's decisions.
I also don't think its possible to play this song with exactly right notes unless you tune the guitar this way.
Actually in the official
Actually in the official sheet music/tabs (which are available for free!) he's using CGCFGC(basically just one step down from DADGAD.

Well, I tried to find the official sheet music but couldn't find it. I made sure my guitar was perfectly in tune using this tuning and it sounds exactly like the recording.
If you have access to the official tab, does it say to tune it down to C but use a capo on fret 2? It sounds perfect this way.
The song Build That Wall sounds like it's tuned down to C. Are you confusing this song with Build That Wall?

Sorry I meant the songs he put out official sheet music for were listed as CGCFGC tuning not that this song was in that tuning. As for the official sheet music, I actually posted a link to it on here a while ago. http://www.gametabs.net/forum/topic/15859

I thought we were rating the transcription, not the original song?

i was, i don't go as much on sound as how fun it is to play, so 4 is pretty good, 5 would be something i play nonstop until i'm sick of it.

I'm not the one who made the song boring to play, I just transcribed it.
What should I have done to make this transcription a 5 star? I added all the notes I could hear, and when you play it, it sounds just like the original.
Don't dock my tab cause I didn't add anything to the original composition. That's the composer's job.
i don't get how 4 is
i don't get how 4 is considered docking, it's a good tab, fun to play, although it's not absolutely full of amazing and perfect, what song can be?, you did a good job tabbing, i couldn't have done half as well, therefore, excellent, not perfect, and 4. i should probably not rate anymore if my lack of understanding for this subject can cause so much controversy :/
also, since i made that comment about tuning, i've been practicing, and i realise how whiny i sounded, but i didn't rate for convenience and i think my opinion is still the same today.
The point of the rating
The point of the rating system isnt to rate the song but the arrangement or transcription. Docking points for not liking the source material is pretty stupid.
i never said i didn't like,
i never said i didn't like, it, i keep saying that it's really good. all of the bastion tracks are.

Refer to the 5-star source material bin next time.

I keep saying this, I. Like.
I keep saying this, I. Like. The. Song. It's very good. That's why I gave it 4 stars. I thought four out of five was a good thing.
if there's anything I've learned from this it's to rate anonymously so people don't get touchy about it...

I would actually like some harsher rating in general :/ The standard right now is: 5 stars is good, everything below is bad.

Don't be discouraged by tuning your instrument. It's good for you and it won't seem nearly as annoying soon enough.
I always thought of the
I always thought of the rating system as an accuracy gauge.
I think there should be 2 rating systems, one for accuracy and one for the enjoyment level. The "top tabs" section should be the highest rated "enjoyment", not the highest "accuracy".
Sucks not even beong able to attain the highest rating because i didn't pick the right song to tab.
