Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY

A new world-wide Final Fantasy concert tour has been announced called "Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY." The concert is going to be conducted by grammy award winning artist Arnie Roth, the same person who conducted "Dear Friends: music from FINAL FANTASY" in 2004 and 2005. Distant Worlds is meant to honor the 20th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series.

The concert will eventually make its way around the world, but so far only 2 dates have been announced. The premiere will be held on December 4th of this year in Stockholm, Sweden, and the United States debut will be held in Chicago on March 1st, 2008.

The concert will feature the following songs:

FINAL FANTASY series: Main Theme, Swing de Chocobo

FINAL FANTASY I-III: Medley

FINAL FANTASY III DS: Opening

FINAL FANTASY IV: Theme of Love

FINAL FANTASY V: Dear Friends

FINAL FANTASY VI: Opera "Maria and Draco"

FINAL FANTASY VII: One-Winged Angel, Opening - Bombing Mission, Aerith's Theme

FINAL FANTASY VIII: Liberi Fatali, Fisherman's Horizon, Love Grows, Don't be Afraid

FINAL FANTASY IX: Vamo' alla Flamenco

FINAL FANTASY X: To Zanarkand

FINAL FANTASY XI: Memoro de la Stono - Distant Worlds

I am so happy to see all the concerts and orchestras being formed lately that are dedicated to video game music. I think it really speaks to how popular and socially accepted the genre is becoming. The future is definitely bright in the world of game music.
