any tips for a person that has a hard time barring the frets? my fingers keep muting some strings.

You just gotta develop the strength in your fingers. Barring is very very important in any kind of guitar playing.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don't need to keep the pressure throughout your barre constant. For example, when I play the 6th fret 6th string and 5th fret 1st string together at -1:49, I actually barre all 6 strings at the fifth fret, even though I only use the barre to play the 5th fret on the 1st string, so when I do this, I don't need to have constant pressure across the barre, but just enough applied in the right way to press down the 1st string. This conserves a lot of energy.

But a lot of it is as archard said. you just need to develope the strength and technique.

Ah, so that's what this song is called! No wonder I couldn't find it. First, I confused Kilika with Luca and Kilika wasn't the name of the song, it's this! Nice play. I'm gonna learn how to play this.

As for baring, I don't know if it is just me, but I don't think my fingers are..straight to bar perfectly. Maybe it's just me, though.

hey i havnt had any guitar lessons but i took up guitar just for the hell of it about a half a year ago .. any tips?
cos this is pretty hard and im guessing its all plucking and not strumming?
