Uh... is there a time limit? My Alundra piece could take months by the looks of it... |

Remember it's about songs from SNES games. Unfortunately, Alundra is no SNES game and therefore its songs do not qualify for this project. It's a pity: Alundra is an awesome game with an even better soundtrack. :S |

I am wondering about the PDF format...what I mean is we should have all the pieces set up teh same way so we need to decide how that's going to look. I'm just saying because some people might use different programs to create their pdfs and we'll end up being all over the map on the look of the individual pieces. Finale and Guitarpro create PDFs, I don't know about PowerTab, but we need to decide on which to use. For those who don't have the programs maybe they can get it from other forum users or can email their arrangement to someone who has it and thet can create the pdf? |

I personally prefer the Guitar pro PDF's. They look the best to me, as they show tab and Notes. I'm not sure finale shows tab? EDIT: I take that back, finale does. Honestly, I doubt it really matters the exact format as long as they show they same thing. The book doesn't have to be perfect IMO. |

This is a good point. I think we should go with Guitar Pro. If you can't get Guitar Pro, just give me a PM and we'll *cough* ...figure something out...

Wouldn't it be better if they were submitted as power tab or guitar pro or whatever files, so one person could generate all the PDFs?

Earthbound - Eight Melodies [FILE UPLOAD] This is for the "SNES Fingerstyle Arrangements" project, but also has the original melody at the beginning. It is very similar to the original song. I just played it by ear so some parts may be wrong as far as where notes may be played. Good Beginner song, btw. ;D YouTube MP3 just a note, this is not the "Eight Melodies" song from Mother 1. |

Archard, two things. First off we should probably put something up on the front page for this project as not all tabbers might be current forum members. If you want I could create this. Second off I might need more time with vacations coming up. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in this boat. |

Good idea, feel free to do so ron. And yes, I know not everyone is gonna be done by June 30th. Don't worry, it most likely be extended... I just like to have some sort of timeframe up so we actually get it done :P

So the tabs we create must be unique instead of a note for note type of tab? Can we submit more than one song? Also, you should have some proof readers to check for errors and stuff. It would also help with the format. |

Precisely. If the song itself was originally played on guitar, then transcribing that to guitar would involve no creativity whatsoever. I want all the tabs to have to have some level of creativity or arrangement. If the song was original played on piano, for example... then it will at least involve some sort of imagination.

Together(click to download ZIP) An arrangement of the Star Night Festival song from Harvest Moon for solo guitar (Drop D.) You can also view/preview/print this score (notation+tab) online, if you don't mind downloading the (free) Sibelius Scorch plug-in: Together embedded webpage I might make something better before the deadline, but I wanted to put this out there. |

Bohman: Good. You might want to consider moving that low F# in measures 2 and 4 up one octave for playability's sake. But I like it. Maikoi92: Solid. Good job. BooDoo: Some of the more seasoned fingerstyle vets are going to love this one. Well done.

Guitar Pro Forest of Illusion Thanks for your comment archard. I have made a couple of changes to optimize playability. Also I think notes sound a bit more profound or melancholic if played on the lower strings lower down... For example seventh fret a-string rather than second fret d-string :P |

Here's the thread for submitting your arrangements to the SNES fingerstyle project. Simply upload the tab and put a link to it here. Our 4 judges will then evaluate it and post whether or not it's acceptable. If 3 out of 4 judges accept it, then it will be included in the book of arrangements.
Requirements for being accepted
The tentative deadline for this project is June 30th.
